Where can I get one of those?

Attractive, helpful, polite, humble, mild-mannered, friendly, knowledgable and peaceful are a few words to describe the two Masai who accompanied the trekkers on History Channel's Expedition Africa. Dressed in traditional garb, bringing with them the clothes on their back and spears, their personality and low-key attitude stole the show.

The four white people who were sort of "re-imagining" the epic journey undertaken by Lord Stanley in his effort to "find" Dr. Livingstone, were perfectly cast in their roles, which made them predictable and somewhat annoying as characters in the series.

I'm a fan of all of those adventure-type series, especially where danger is involved. But, the journey undertaken by the "characters" is so much less compelling once you realize that there is a film crew running to and fro to get the shots. And, in this particular case, there were a dozen or so porters employed to lug their luggage across Africa. They didn't attempt to "hide" the porters, but still, we're talking about regular guys who are hauling ass and other stuff without the fancy hiking togs, bug-spray and high-tech fabrics.
