What’s the Hurry?

What Stardom Bound tells us about “winners”

The fastest horse in the race is put at a disadvantage if it doesn’t also possess the confidence and bearing of a champion.Real champions seem to know that they are special. Fast and insecure horses need to get the lead and hold on with everything they’ve got.
Its important to remember that horses are herd animals, and if a horse is insecure about his place in the pecking order, he has no business passing the rest of the herd.
This isn’t new info, but it’s the kind of thing that we tend to forget. . . but rest assured that it’s a reality that the horses cannot forget, because its as much a part of them as their desire to run. That’s why I really love horses like Stardom Bound, Zenyatta and, yes, Evening Attire. They all share that certain “something” that classy athletes (both 2 and 4 footed) have: an intelligence that , when crossed with ability, allows the horse to run their own race and stay out of trouble.
