Top Hats and Horse-Tails

Wesley Ward, the acclaimed trainer of two-year-olds here in America, ventured over the pond to take two races from the tophat-and-tails folks over at Ascot (England). He wowed them with Strike the Tiger at huge odds yesterday, and repeated that effort and set a record with the two year old filly Jealous Again. . . The first American trained horse to win the Grp 2 Queen Mary Stakes. This might be the event that opens the door a lot wider to Ascot for us American folk. The Brits have been travelling to the US and absconding with "our" Breeder's Cup trophies, so its only fitting that we grab a few trophies back! How great would it be to see some of the American trainers in tophat and tails? Rick Dutrow immediately comes to mind. . . Bobby Frankel would probably look great all gussied up. How about Larry Jones?

  2. Great post again mate. I think you’ve hit the nail on the head there. It doesn’t have to be hard yet mose people fail to realize the basics.
