3 harness drivers injured in spill at Meadowlands
Three drivers have been taken to the hospital following a spill in the second race at Meadowlands Racetrack on Friday night. Six drivers were unseated in the accident.

Usually, harness racing is a fairly pedestrian affair; the horses keep their distance from each other and the drivers have lightning-quick reactions if anything goes wrong.

In this case, a horse stumbled and fell, causing a pile-up. Like most accidents involving animals, if it looks catastrophic, it usually turns out "O.K." for all involved.

According to a report by the NY Times, no horses were seriously injured.Look for this race appearing in all of those "Disaster!" and "Carnage!" syndicated shows.
