Back in 2001, when I first became involved with the issue of thoroughbred retirement, opinion polls like this one didn't exist, which meant that the "problem" also didn't exist. Nice to see that the Thoroughbred Times feels that this issue, sometimes called the "darker side" of the "sport of kings" is worthy of discussion.
