Before today, all of my avian sunning photos were taken at one location: my backyard and deck.
Sometimes I get the feeling that there's something about me that encourages birds to relax and take it easy, as these new photos of birds sunning themselves demonstrate:

These birds engaged in sunning behavior at Webb State Park in Weymouth, along the rocky and detritus-strewn shore. I find it interesting that the catbird chose a location where he blends right into the background, up against a piece of concrete, while the red house finch picked a spot about 20 feet away, where the debris and plant life helped him to blend in, as well.
